Move a replicated VM whilst it is failed over

Post by homerjnick »

Can I ask the best method on how to go about something?

I have a VM replicated to my DR site and it is currently failed over as a proof of concept to my manager.

I want to fail it back tonight but before I do I want to move the original VM location from one datastore to another at my production site.

What would be the best method of doing this? Can I? Or do I have to fail it back first and then move it?

Nick, Veeam B&R supports both scenarios and in both cases only differences between the two VMs will be transferred from the replica VM to the original VM. Thanks!

I understand that only the changes will be replicated, my question is will there be no impact on failing back by moving the original VM from one datastore to another?

No impact as long as you choose the new destination in the failback wizard.
