Case # 07633539 Removal of VM = fail

Post by timgowen »

I was told that the Nutanix backups had been failing for a while, and looking at the job history at first glance it did seem that there were failures since late in Feb when I removed a VM but neglected to take it from the backup.

Even further investigation showed some weird results including two backups with no objects plus one with all remaining VMs apparently backed up, but the missing one caused the job to fail.

One of the 'empty' job logs contains a weird HTML line against a red x, which I have just added to the case.

12.3 is available and AHV 12.7.0.172. This might be the solution to all of this, but I am waiting to hear before deploying it.

Hi Tim,

The most current versions are Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3.1 and Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV 7.1.
I recommend discussing with your support engineer whether the new version addresses the issue you are experiencing. Support has a list of bugs that have been resolved by our patches.

Additionally, please be aware that v12.3 and v12.3.1 include fixes for known security vulnerabilities. I strongly suggest planning an upgrade of your backup server to our most recent patch (v12.3.1).

Best,
