Hi Karsten,

Once the next v8 patch is available, you'll see information on the forums and in the KB4711.

Thanks

It's a few days away. It was ready to ship this past Monday, but we held it to include a fix for a breaking change Microsoft will implement on March 31st.

@Gostev, can you tell us more about the breaking change? What is affected? Are previous versions still working?

It's about Azure archiver appliance which will fail to be provisioned due to something discontinued on Azure side. That's at a very high level, support KB will be created with more details.

I think we are all going to find out about the breaking change on Monday, March 31st...

I wish I had time to test 8.1.1 before this happens. We have a lot riding on this software.

@aeph I expect it to be alive today.
More information around the breaking change is also coming, but in a nutshell...
If you are using backup copy and use an helper appliance to store the backup copy in Azure archive tier, then creating a new helper appliance will fail as the SKU that we use for the VM is deprecated by MSFT. We changed in 8.1.1 the SKU so that VBR can continue to create the helper appliance. (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... #appliance)
