Hi all,

does anyone else have this problem with Exchange?

Processing mailbox XX failed with error: Item previews are missing (ID: XX (12 bytes)).

This message is consistent, i.e. it reappears with every job run for the same mailboxes.

Is there an Exchange setting for this mailbox that fixes this error?

I am already in contact with Veeam (Case ID: #07461510).

Hello aeph

I don't believe there is an Exchange setting to fix this issue.
According to the comments in your case, the issue is not related to a setting in your M365 tenant.
Please continue working with our customer support team for now.

Hi aeph,

Item preview is metadata stored in object storage repositories, and the error you see may indicate that some issue occurred to this metadata.

Veeam Support told me that there is no exchange setting to fix it it seems like a veeam issue with the cache. I provided a sample of our cache db as a export. RnD is investigating it. So yes it seems its an veeam issue and cannot be fixed within Exchange or something.

Im starting to see this issue creep into our v8 environment which tells me it is still around. Did you ever get yours sorted?

According to aephs latest case notes, a private hotfix was provided.
If you still face the same issue on the latest patch, then please contact our customer support team.
We are not able to troubleshoot technical issues or share private fixes in a forum topic.

I still have this error in some mailboxes although 8.1 is supposed to solve this error. I have installed 8.1.0.331. Does anyone else have this problem?

After working with the support team on this problem, we were finally able to solve it by moving the job to the default proxy (controller) and modifying the proxy.xml file.
I don't put the modifications into the thread here - please ask support team for individual help.
