Hello. We rolled out V1 12.3 for the first time and it is quite nice. I have a question regarding the "Protected" vs "Unprotected" status of backups, specifically on VBO 365. All mailboxes are backing up to a local repo. We have not gotten around to moving it to cloud yet since it is so large but will get there. The backups are backing up successfully to a local repo on the BDR (jet database). However, V1 shows all the 365 objects being "unprotected". Is protected defined as some sort of secondary immutable object?

- For the Dashboard, we considered an user protected if any of these have a backup within the RPO (Mailbox, Archive, OneDrive, Personal Site)
- For the Report, you need to explicitly select what is relevant for you, imagine just the Mailbox, no OneDrive or Archive. Check that part, and surely they will look as protected.

Hello...Thank you for the response. I suspect I am missing something and need to dig in deeper to understand protected. The O365 backups have been working perfectly for month backing up the entire site. Always finishes green with everything backed up. But on the Dashboard and the reports I can not get a clean protected report no matter what object I select. Perhaps this is due to the fact that we JUST installed V1 and it does not have a history yet? I would just like to generate a report showing everything protected.

Veeam ONE does data collection of all of that data for the month you have been protecting. I cannot troubleshoot from here, but on either the report, and the dashboard, you can narrow the scope, like just Mailboxes, or just OneDrives, etc. And see how it looks like. Also the report contains information about last backup, etc.
I would suggest opening a support ticket if you think something is not working as it should.
