free license - but not for object storage?

Post by mcz »

Hi everyone,

I remember a very long time ago when Anton Gostev mentioned that veeam would kind of give small customers a backup solution for free with the 5 free instances that you receive once you install the product in community edition. Well, you get the instances, that's clear and then you can also do file backups (NAS) until a certain amount of data, but you can't use the object storage integration...

I wannted to protect a very small set of data for via filebackup and objectstorage and got disappointed when I realized that you can't use object storage at all... Buying a license for 5 instances also is maybe not ideal for a small customer...

Is there any other way except local backups? Is there any other "small license" for such a purpose? Will it ever change in th near future?

Thanks!

Hello,
community edition can point to Veeam Data Cloud Vault, which is object storage.

Best regards
Hannes

Thanks Hannes. Can you please give me some answers regarding the model for cloud vault? Do you always pay one TB even if you don't use - say - 20 GB? There is no monthly option? Thanks!

Hi, Michael. We have the dedicated subforum for Veeam Vault, it's best to direct Vault-specific queries there where the responsible PMs will actually see them. Thanks
