good day all, we (me and our customer) are investigating a strange error in backup to tape job
The source File Backup job works fine with some warnings
"4/2/2025 10:31:50 AM :: Backed up 54531329 files and 4599852 folders (43.7 TB); skipped 1 inaccessible folders, 98 inaccessible files, 92 locked files "
but the job saving on tape the previous job halts with these error messages
"4/2/2025 11:21:59 PM :: Failed to backup F4071340/1.JPG: Cannot deserialize file info type: 144"
"4/2/2025 11:21:59 PM :: File backup issues detected for 11 objects "
"4/2/2025 11:22:33 PM :: Full backup: The operation was canceled."
support engineers say there is a problem with the encoding of some file share, and to add some registry key to correct this behaviour.
What sounds strange to the customer, and to mee too, is: why the source job works fine and backup to tape completely fails? Why it's not just skipping the "problematic" files/shares?
VBR version is 12.3.0.310

Re: Backup to Tape halts for an error [#07660984]
addendum: today we had a chat with an italian Veeam Presales Engineer and we took a look at the error.
We have seen that some weeks ago the job ran with no issues, and the encoding of the shares has not changed in the while.
Veeam version running was 12.2.0.334, the error appeared after upgrade to 12.3.0.310
