Remove orphaned repo

Post by ksl28 »

Hi,

I'm trying to remove a Linux host from Veeam B&R (v12.3), but the server no longer exists. When I attempt to delete it, I get:
"Infra item delete failed Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 192.168.103.20:22".
There are no active dependencies, jobs, or repositories linked to it.
What’s the recommended way to force remove a dead server like this?

If I were you, I would contact technical support. It is possible that there are still references to the old repository inside the database, which a support engineer can remove. Thanks!

Building a new VBR, seems to be quite an overkill, for something that should be easy to achieve?

Hi Kristian,

It should be possible to remove an offline host since version 12.1 or so. I just tried it in my lab with a hardened repository and a general Linux repository. In both cases, I could remove the offline machine from managed Servers: Image

For the machine used as a hardened repository, I had to provide "credentials" (can be anything, and does not need to be correct). When reaching the connection timeout, I was presented with this message to force remove the managed machine:

Even for Community Edition owners, we provide support on a best effort basis, so you can try your luck. Plus, you can try to remove this host via PowerShell, maybe this cmdlet will work. Thanks!
