modifying SOBR Capacity Tier Case #07674800

Post by mpm@aramark »

We want to modify the SOBR archive we have configured. Replacing the existing Capacity Tier Azure Blob Storage, with a Veeam Vault Storage. What are the implications of modifying the SOBR as it relates to the existing Azure Blob Storage? With respect to the new Veeam Vault Storage, I assume VBR would simply sync the Performance Tier with the new Capacity Tier. Would we have to simply note the date that that the Azure Blob Storage was removed from the configuration and delete it at the appropriate date? TIA

The easiest and recommended way would be to seal the existing Azure Blob storage based Capacity Tier extent, then SOBR will allow you to add a Veeam Vault based extent to Capacity Tier. From that point on, all new backups will go to Veeam Vault, while all old backups will be gradually removed from Azure Blob Storage as they are expiring. Thanks
