VM Backup Retention

Post by vrmsot@nlicgulf.com »

Dear all,

We have a Backup job with 15 VMs & Retention for 2 years,

we wants to shutdown two VMs & wanted to change retention only for two poweroff VMs for 15 years in that Backup job only.

Please advise ..

Thanks

Hi Pankaj,

Export Backup is going to be the most convenient way to meet this requirement. You can customize the retention on Exported Backups and this will allow the source job to continue without changes while preserving the desired restore points for 15 years separately.

Right now there is not a means for custom retention settings per workload within a job, the job retention applies to all workloads backed up by the job. Export Backup will be the best option.

Exported restore points will be displayed in the Backups (Exported) node, where you can select the necessary backup and initiate a restore from it.
