Hello,
when i right click on some of our tape backups and choose Properties the column "Status" shows "Incomplete" for some of the restore points. It looks like it mostly happens to Incremental Restore points.
However when i look at the logfiles i cannot find any errors / warnings during the backup sessions. Not on the tape backup job itself nor on the Backup to disk job that created the backup files for this tape job.
The entries look like this:
23.03. Increment OK
22.03. Full OK
21.03. Increment Incomplete
20.03. Increment Incomplete
19.03. Increment OK
I'm not sure how i can find out the reason for this.

Re: Tape Job Properties show status Incomplete
Hi mtav,
I think a Support Case is probably best here; "incomplete" means as it tells, there is a restore point, but it does not allow for full recoverability, though at the moment it's not clear why some of the restore points show as incomplete. My first guess would be that tapes that had part of the backup chain got erased or overwritten, but this is just a guess.
Please open a Support case as advised and share the case number once created. Be sure to include logs from the affected tape job for Support to review.

Re: Tape Job Properties show status Incomplete
Thank you, i've opened a support ticked. Its suggested that the underlaying backup to disk chain had a problem. But as those backup to disk chain is no longer available its not sure what has caused it.
