We have to create new object repositories for some of our tenants as we want to decrease retention and disable immutability.
As we still want to have access to the existing backups in the old repositories via the restore portal, i wonder if the following will work:
- Create new repository and point the existing jobs to these
- Create a dummy job within the same organization pointing to the old repository. Job is disabled and will be deleted together with the repo as soon as the backups age out.
Will this allow me to have access to the data stored in the new and old repository?
Or is VBM smart enough to recognize that data is stored in a repo which is not even used by any job anymore?

Re: Restore access to several repositories
Hi, VBM is smart enough to recognize that data is stored in a repo which is not even used by any job anymore.
The orga binding / linking to the orga is stored in the repo itself. So it is working even if there is no active job pointing to this specific repo.

Re: Restore access to several repositories
Ok cool. So i guess i also do not have to care about retention on the old repo, as aged out objects will be deleted from there as well?
Will the size of the repo decrease automatically over time, or is it the same behavior as for jet repos, where the size will stay the same, even though the repo is actually empty?
