Restore RDS Veeam Backup for AWS does not bring DB Owner grants and privileges.

Hi everyone,

Could you please answer a question for me? When restoring RDS from an S3 level image, can Veeam Backup for AWS bring the grants and privileges of the DB Owner that already exists in the database?

We have a scenario where the DBA reported that the grants were not brought in after two restore attempts.

Hi,

I just got confirmation that the logic you are seeing is correct. This is related to how Postgres is built. These settings are on the cluster level and not the database. That is why during a database restore, they are not restored.

We will look what can be done as an enhancement for a future release but I can’t provide any ETA or solution for now.
