Server managed backup of Linux computers - Exclusions

Post by fred.tealey@hpe.com »

I have a collection Linux based systems in a backup job that backups are managed by the VEEAM server. In the backup job, where the backup mode is entire computer, I cannot see a way to add exclusions for the group. Within this set of systems, I want to exclude /work on all systems. Since they do not have a consistent set of mount points it's hard to manage Volume level backups for the group. Is there any way to add mount point or directory exclusions?

Hello Fred,

You can add directory exclusions, but only with File Level Backup (FLB). In your case, you would set the root (/) as the backup object and then specifically exclude the /work directory from the job.

Nevertheless, your request is noted! +1

Also, is the /work directory a separate mount or just part of the root directory tree?

/work is a seperate mount so not sure how that would work.
