Getting ESXi version 8 vvol VMs working again in SureBackup (or any to have SureBackup perform an Entire VM restore instead of an Instant Restore). We currently use VOrch to validate surebackups and finding since going to esxi8 and vm resides on a vvol and disk descriptor version 7 gets error.

Re: Feature Request
Hi fp_jm15, welcome to the forums.
Thank you for your request and for sharing the case number.
In this particular case, the issue is a limitation with regards to backing up and restoring VMs on vvol datastores. In short, right now Instant Recovery (and by extension SureBackup) will not be possible due to limitations surrounding vvol.
I see Support had provided some workarounds, so for the time being please use those for the recoveries. (From the case, I see this is about Veeam Recovery Orchestrator, and the suggestion was to disable instant-recovery for the Recovery Locations and do entire VM restores instead)
