For 99% of backup scenarios that we discuss with our clients, one of the required feature is long term retention to a offiste location, which is usually our on-prem data center.
This applies for all public clouds too.
Why cannot all Veeam public cloud backup documentation have a section for Backup copy or LTR - clearly specifying Veeam backup for Azure VMs is supported in VBR to create backup copy. Azure SQL instances is not supported in backup copy, this is only supported within Azure backup repository.
Similarly AWS EC2 instances are supported for backup copy - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbaws ... html?ver=9
But I'm unable to find the same details for FSx or other AWS supported scenarios by Veeam backup for AWS.
Can someone please help with details and confirmation if backup-copy for FSx backup is supported. We want to be able to get this backup data out of AWS to our on-prem respository for LTR.
And I hope Backup copy for EC2 instances on EBS volumes is also supported for backup copy, the above link (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbaws ... html?ver=9) does not calls this out, so I will assume it is supported. Is this correct?
Thanks.

Re: LTR Backup-copy job for FSx
Hi,
Backup copies for FSx are available within VB for AWS and can be sent to another region in AWS as we store data in AWS vaults.
If you do want to use external copies, you can protect the FSx file system using VBR and NAS backup after which you should be able to copy data to other locations.
