I have setup several Hyper-V Backups jobs, all of them do not have any schedule (intentionally) but I have set Active Full Backups to run once a month.
I just want a full backup, no incrementals.
But I see that none of these active full backups are actually running. No errors, no messages, just nothing. I just see that the last backups are 40-50 days ago when I triggered them manually last time.
The Active and Synthetic fulls still need the job to run on a periodic schedule in order to trigger. By default when there's a job schedule, the Active Full and Synthetic Full schedule will be honored when the job runs, but without a schedule the job never starts and never checks if it should run a Full that session or not.
Set the job to run monthly on the Active Full day, and it will work like you're hoping.

Thank you David!
Great, will try that. How does Veeam decide weather to run Incremental or Full when the next schedule time comes? Is it the case of it seeing that it "missed" a Full and does a Full instead of Incremental?
On the day the job runs, its options will be checked and if the current day is a scheduled Active or Synthetic Full day, then a full backup will be made.
In some rare cases, there may be a need for an Active Full (e.g., enabling or disabling encryption on the job) and the job will inform you of the need to perform an Active Full, but these should not be common.
In your situation, it would not run an Active (or Synthetic) full unless it was the scheduled Full day, so that run would be an increment.
