[Feature Request] Allow configuration of vsphere url for individual proxies

We have a split environment between primary and secondary data centres with 3 proxies and a vSphere in each. We are unable to set up separate jobs for each datacentre and require a way to restrict automatic proxy selection to the proxies in the local datacentre.

Please provide a way to segregate the proxies by VCentre to allow automatic proxy selection to select one of the proxies that is connected to the local Vsphere

I have a similar request. We have a vCD setup spread out over two sites. We have a hardware proxy on each site. It would be great if each proxy could be configured to back up data from only the hosts on the same site, to reduce the cross-site traffic. With proxy affinity it is possible to bind a proxy to a repository, but I find it would often be more useful to bind it to data sources on different levels.

Could you clarify why you’re unable to create separate jobs for objects from different datacenters and link them to specific proxies? Or do you have the same VDCs, organizations, and vApps spanning across multiple sites? Thanks!

we have clustered servers, databases and applications spanning the sites that have to be in the same job

Here too. We don't have one vCD per site (who does?).

Thank you for your feedback. You’re right, at the moment we don’t have the ability to assign a proxy server to a specific vCD site, but we’ll consider adding such a feature in the future—we’ll keep it in mind for one of the upcoming versions of our product.
