Hello,

we are also on 8.1.1.159 P20250328 and also have this error. Is there a solution for this in the meantime?
Thank you!

Hi Wolfi,

The last internal comment in EDH's case was that the issue is solved with v8.1.1.
Please contact our customer support team if you are still experiencing this issue with v8.1.1, and provide us with your case number.

Thank you,

The problem has solved itself. The backup job from 28 May had many errors with ‘Email item export from EWS failed’ and ‘Unable to read data from the transport connection’ messages. The job repetitions reduced the errors until the job ran without errors again.
Thank you very much!

Hi!
Looks like that in our case it's a throttling issue, we followed the steps mentioned from Veeam support: https://www.veeam.com/kb4198
Job is running now for some time and so far no EWS errors.

Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

Thank you for sharing the solution that worked for you.
If EWS throttling was the issue, please keep in mind that this KB may only be a temporary solution until EWS throttling becomes active again. Please keep an eye on your backup sessions and report new occurrences of the problem to our support team.
