Cannot get rid of vcenter from veeam

Post by Tutek »

Hi,
I have a stupid problem, I have vcenter installed on a separate server, I want to disable this server and also vcenter because i don't need it. However this vcenter manages two other servers esxi1 and esxi2. When I want to remove vcenter from inventory I get an error that it is associated with a backup job, now going to the backup job and editing it in the place where I have to select vsphere VMs I have nothing else to select but this one vcenter because I do not have any others.
I also can't add separate these esxi2 and esxi2 hosts because I get an error that those are already there (they are managed by the vcenter that I want to remove).
I would like to add esxi hosts separately and add them to backup jobs instead of through vcenter but I don't know how to do it.

If your vCenter managed its Hosts through a FQHN and you have a need to connect to the ESXi from Veeam for a 2nd. than you must use a different name... or as simple use a IP Address. If vCenter managed your Hosts trough their IPs than just use the FQDN within Veeam.

You need this procedure when you need to restore VMs and your vCenter isnt available at the moment.
