Remove orphaned backup but keep files

Post by Magion »

I made a few one-time full backups of a few VM's for archiving purposes, before permanently removing the VM's from the cluster. After the backups finished succesfully I removed the jobs. This automatically moved the backups to the orphaned backups node.

Now I want to remove the (orphaned) registration of these backups within VBR but keep the files. However in the console I only get the option to remove the backups from disk, there is no option to remove the backup(s) from the VBR database.

Is it possible to do this?

Hi Magion,

Yes, you can use CTRL + right-click and then select Remove from configuration. It will remove the backups from the backup console, but without deleting any backup file.

However, I recommend moving the backup files to a different folder that is not used as a repository. You can import the backups again later if needed, or just leave them there until required.
