Veeam Backup Google Cloud Storage

Is it planned that Veeam will support backing up Google Cloud Storage? It appears only S3 compatible, Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, and Microsoft Azure Data Lake is in the current 12.2.0.334 version.

Currently it is not planned, however based on demand we can consider. You're officially the first to ask about this
By the way, I remember GCP provides S3 interface as an option, so you can try backing one up as S3-compatible storage?

I didn't think to try it as an S3 compatible. A customer was asking if it was supported but I didn't try anything.

Hi Team,

We opened Veeam Support - Case # 07664900 - Regarding backup Object GCS Storage to VBR but this feature is currently unavailable in existing Veeam version. The feature to backup unstructured data backup is currently supported for AWS and Azure Object storage but is is currently unavailable for GCS bucket Storage. As support Engineer has raised internally a request for enhancement and requested me to do the same on Veeam forum. Can you please add this request to Feature Enhancement for upcoming version.

Note: We tried to make GCS Bucket, S3 compatible as this way we can backup GCS bucket but when we tried in this way, we could not find anything.

I will add your vote to our request tracker, but the next upcoming version (v13) will not include <Google Cloud Storage> as a source for File Backup Jobs.

Note: We tried to make GCS Bucket, S3 compatible as this way we can backup GCS bucket but when we tried in this way, we could not find anything.

As far as I have heard, the workaround using S3 compatible storage should still be possible. However, I have not tried it myself.
From the log analysis, it appears that Google does not accept the specified region. Have you tried leaving the <region> field empty?
