Checked with the dev lead, looks like it should ship the week of 16th.

Would that be 8.1.x or 8.2 or even 8.5, I mean, how minor or big is the update going to be?
We have several customers larger than 10k or even 20k accounts in a single tenant and so far have been hesitant to upgrade from v7 where everything runs fairly smooth.

I've been suffering outages every single night for 63+ days. When will a working version be released?

They gave me a rolled up hotfix, version/build 8.1.1.2200. Thankfully, it's addressed the most critical issues for us. So far, it's been stable. I think I'll wait to apply 8.1.2 when it comes out. After suffering for 3+ months, I'm not interested in a repeat.

Has there been a change in need of permissions for the API permissions with 8.1.2? After the upgrade and starting the Sharepoint Backup, we receive hundreds of "Access denied" error on different sites.

Hi Raftbone,

I'm not aware of any additional permissions required when upgrading from v8.1.* to v8.1.2, as this is a bug fix release. Permission changes (listed in our Release Notes) are typically introduced with major releases, and sometimes with minor ones. The last time we had such a change was when updating from a v7.* release to v8.*.

As always, we recommend consulting the release notes and KB updates before patching a production system as part of your update preparation. Feel free to open a support case if you encounter any issues, but please let's not go off topic and discuss technical problems in this topic, as it is dedicated to the release of v8.1.2.

Both the KB and Release Notes have been updated in the meantime:
- KB: https://www.veeam.com/kb4711
- Release Notes: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/rn/veeam_b ... notes.html

That's a massive amount of fixes for a minor update, respect and props to the Veeam M365 team :)
