Feature Request: Make default IAM region configurable

I can’t create an IAM endpoint in my eu-west-2 VPC, only an STS endpoint; see the link below.

I need to use the public internet to access the IAM endpoint while the STS endpoint is available to private subnets.

I would like configure my VBA to use the STS endpoint.

Hi Dave,

Have you considered trying adding sts to the list along our other endpoints listed in our user guide?

Am I correct in understanding that your main goal would be to change the default region for the IAM service to a custom one?

I have every endpoint configured in my eu-west-2 VPC, but VBA specifically wants iam.amazonaws.com - that's not available eu-west-2 as an interface endpoint.

I want the VBA to use the local sts endpoint as an alternative.
