Recovery media

Post by jcalvetm »

I suppose that is a "silly" qustion but...

I have just upgraded from V12.0 to 12.3

Should I rebuild my recovery media isos or, in case of need, my v12.0 would do?

Thanks in advance

Hi Jordi,

Yes, you should upgrade the recovery media after deploying a new agent version. It’s possible that backup files created with a newer agent version cannot be opened by the older recovery media.
The easiest way to generate new recovery media is from the latest agent backup in the backup server console.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Just a final question.

Will old backups (backups before update) open with the new recovery media?

Hi Jordi,

Yes, backup files from older versions of our products can always be opened by newer versions. The same applies when using a newer version of our recovery media.
