In regards to Exchange Server SE
Hello dear Veeam Community,
in lieu of the MS roadmap to release Exchange Server Subscription Edition later this year, I wanted to ask if Veeam has already confirmed or denied if Veeam Backup and Replication will be compatibel with Exchange Server SE or not. My Google Fu so far came up lacking, but maybe someone else has got any insights?

Re: In regards to Exchange Server SE
Hi Pascal and Welcome to Veeam R&D Forums!
Usually, we try to deliver official support for new versions of any third-party applications we're integrated with within 90 days after their general availability (GA). So, to answer your question: yes, we will support Exchange Server SE.
Thanks!

Re: In regards to Exchange Server SE
Hello,
May we know in which VBR version EXCH SE will be supported? Is it gonna be already in V13.0 or we will have to wait for minor/patch release?
Also, knowing that EXCH SE RTM will be equal to EXCH 2019 CU15, is it something that you already support? I guess you are participating in early/dev access program.
Thanks,
Tomasz

Re: In regards to Exchange Server SE
Hi Tomasz,
It's too early to say. The point is that we need to test the final GA build anyway, and that always takes time. However, access to early beta builds can speed up delivery, but from a testing perspective, a Beta or RTM build is not equivalent to GA.
Thanks!

Re: In regards to Exchange Server SE
Can I add my 2 cents to this conversation?
With the rapidly approaching end of support dates for both MS Exchange 2016 and MS Exchange 2019, VCSP customers will be looking and planning to migrate on to the now released Exchange SE. As such they will be looking at providers to be able to continue to protect the environments once the plans to move to this release of the software come to fruition.
Are we going to be advising these valuable customers not to plane and execute the migrations and upgrades as no backup is currently available and to remain on what will shortly become unsupported Microsoft software?
Thanks.

Up to you. As a Veeam VCSP, you should very well know that our target for new platform releases support has always been 90 days from GA date, and it's been an extremely rare event that we don't make the target.
