You have to place scripts here:
/usr/sbin/post-thaw-script
/usr/sbin/pre-freeze-script
make it executable, and inside them place the code you need. Never worked with DB2, so I do not know how to dump a DB2 database via shell.

Generally these scripts just stop and start db services at the time when the snapshot takes place. Anyway, for the proper pre-freeze and post-thaw scripts it might be better to refer to IBM (DB2) community forums.

Hi ,
thanks for the info
i would have prefered a non stop database .
I know that linux get VSS also and that DB2 use it
somebody else already write about it
http://forums.veeam.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9815
and there is some explanation here about how stopping write
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forum ... D=14611785

what i hope,in maesure that i can close all veeam sceptical argument ,
is to use a kind of uair for DB2 first on windows then Linux
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/ ... lligan.html
and i am quite sure it is possible
and i will not be the only one to love it

What does the documentation of DB2 application say about these scripts? Did you find any examples?

BTW - quick search returned me this links, please check it out, might help:

Hi vitaly ,
we are a little deeper into our research ...

my DB2 admin said that article that you mention is now unsuported and stop the database during the process (impossible for our cases)

he recommend me this approach
Http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/db2lu ... 06423.html
what he need to be sure of is the process :
what he want is :
pre freeze.
snapshot
un freeze
backup

what he do not want is

pre freeze
snapshot
backup
unfreeze

otherwize we will have disk issues and databases crash (2TB of data)
could you confirm me the normal applicated procedure ?
otherwise could I alternate it ?

thanks in advances ,
once i will finish this , i will try to put a tutorial :-)
thanks

This is how it works, so you should be fine:
(1) Pre-freeze: enable backup mode
(2) Create snapshot
(3) Post-thaw: remove backup mode
(4) Veeam backup
