FEATURE REQUEST - Export Logs to Veeam Backup Server

Hello,

I have the Mac agent and it has the convenient ability to export logs using the agent control panel directly to the Veeam server. It also has the ability to export logs to Veeam server using Status Bar Menu. Could you please include this feature in the Windows Agent?

A second feature request that would be even more helpful would be the ability to export logs on clients directly from the VBR server console. In other words, we would not even have to touch the client to export logs, it could all be initiated from the VBR server console. Thank you!

Veeam Backup & Replication already has an option to collect/export logs for a specific Computer object.

Thank you for that. I can see my Windows clients and retrieve logs there. However, for my Mac clients, when I expand the "Mac Clients" folder under "Physical Infrastructure" no Mac clients are listed. Should I be able to retrieve Mac client logs from the VBR server? Thanks!

Hi Tony,

Yes, it won’t work for our Mac Agent (nor for Solaris or Unix). These agents use the “pre-installed agents” protection group, where the backup server does not connect to the agent directly.
There are currently no plans to change this behavior. Logs need to be generated and sent to the backup server from the Agent side.
