Feature request: Manage SQL Server processing/log backup timeout centrally by the Veeam console

Hi all,

One of our Customer requested us that VBR be able to manage the SQL Server processing/log backup timeout centrally by the Veeam console, instead of requiring a registry change on each server where it's needed.

I suppose this could be difficult to implement, due to some possibile technical implementation limits, but I would be glad if you could argument this deeper.

Sure, I didn't do that just because the following info were previously shared privately by your support team, so I didn't want to create some trouble by discosing them openly

Increase SQL Execution Timeout:
On the SQL Server VM, open the Registry Editor.

Navigate to:
- HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication

Create or modify the following DWORD values:
- SqlExecTimeout (set to 1200 decimal)
- SqlLogBackupTimeout (set to 1200 decimal)

It looks like a set of specific parameters intended to address a very rare technical issue. Indeed, implementing centralized management for such parameters will require time, engineering resources, and so on. However, this is the first request I’ve seen in many years, so I’m not sure it’s feasible to keep it on our roadmap. Nevertheless, your feature request is noted.
