Does my license include Proxmox?
Hi,
We have a license for Veeam Data Platform Essentials Enterprise for 2 sockets. In terms of Veeam licensing, we only use 1 socket (a physical ESXi host). Can I use the other socket to backup our other physical host which is a Proxmost host? In other words: does our license allow us to use it for the ESXi and the Proxmox host?
Thanks in advance for the information
Don't know if this is handy to answer our question but here's our support ID: XXXXXX (i have editted this out but moderators can see it, right?)

Re: Does my license include Proxmox?
Hi,
according to the PDF-Document, which compares the features between the VUL editions and the socket licenses, Proxmox is only available through a VUL license, so you would need to migrate to that to use Proxmox. Socket license only allows for VMWare and Hyper-V as Hypervisors.
You can find the PDF here: https://www.veeam.com/veeam_data_platfo ... ets_ds.pdf

Hello xmzmc,
Our Proxmox integration requires Veeam Universal Licensing. Socket licensing is not supported.
Please contact our sales team for a Socket to VUL license migration.
Best,
Fabian

Re: Does my license include Proxmox?
You should have 2 complimentary instances with your socket license.
This will allow you to protect 2 VMs on Proxmox. Just as an FYI, this can be useful if you want to test our Proxmox integration before deciding to migrate your license to VUL.
Best regards,
Fabian

Re: Does my license include Proxmox?
Oh good tip, thanks. We also plan to migrate the ESXi server to Proxmox eventually due to Broadcom BS so I would love to test it out
