Is there an EICAR-like file for malware?
In the old times of INternet, there were an EICAR virtus test file, to help to test virus alerts and responses
is there anything simmilar, regarding malware?
I´ve just enabled Malware Inline and no threats were found. Ok, happy place, but of course I can´t expect to have a malware to be happy about VBR to be able to warn em about.
So the ideia is: How can we make sure that, if having an malware, that should be deteced, logged in the history fo te system, etc?
can we effectevely and securely test the malware detection?

Our inline scan detects when a larger amount of files gets encrypted or onion links exists on your VM: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
You can simply create some files/shortcuts with fake onion links on your vms. Or use a third party tool to encrypt dozens/hundreds of test files after the initial backup with Inline Scan enabled.
Best,
Fabian
