With the recent release of the Proxmox VE 9.0 Beta, they added support for snapshots on LVM block storage. You can see the release notes here: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Roadmap#Pr ... 9.0_BETA_1
I am currently trying to get away from VMWare and into Proxmox, but until Veeam is able to take backups of VMs on LVM storage, I am unable to switch. I use fibre channel for my storage, and my only option for fibre channel in Proxmox is LVM.
I tried taking backups of my VMs using Veeam but it failed, and I also opened a support case to see if this was possible. (Case # 07776941)
Is there any plan to support this in the future?

Re: Feature Request - Proxmox LVM Support
+1 for supporting backing up Proxmox VM's stored on LVMs which is now supported in v9 beta released on July 18th; and it seems they have a very fast beta cycle of ~3 weeks based on the past two major releases. Any eta from Veeam on supporting this? thank you!

Re: Feature Request - Proxmox LVM Support
Hi,
Our general goal is to support a new product version within 90 days of its general availability date. However, implementing support for new features is a separate topic.
The earliest release vehicle for Proxmox 9 would be our VDP v13 release in Q4 2025. This timeline depends on when Proxmox goes GA and the amount of code changes required, particularly to support new functionality.
Best,
Fabian
