Hi,
1. When using groups for managing users in backup, it would be nice that we could manage users only by adding or removing users from Entra group, because now, every time when I add user to Entra group for backup purpose, I still need to log in to backup and open that group, find user and manually select that user and add it to the backup. Then we experience following issue:
2. When using groups, non checked users are randomly(depending on sort) buried on xy page. Is there a possibility to sort group users by non checked/checked? Because finding newly added users in environment with 2000 users can be tedious. Or, that unchecked mailboxes be on the top like they are when you picking SharePoint sites.
This is for Flex license model, I hope that this is resolved better on variable licensing model, because this few tweaks would help a lot in fixed licensing model.

Re: Feature Request: Automatically adding mailboxes to backup based on Entra group in fixed model and sort by "selected"
Hi Alen88.
I can't comment on your second point, but this is by design on the first point, as the purpose of fixed licensing is to ensure a 1:1 license attachment.
If you migrate to the variable license model, we enumerate your Entra ID Group(s) targeted by the policy at each run.

Hi Paul,
Im OK wth 1:1 license mode. The thing that triggers me is that I'm unable to control users by Entra group itself, without additional intervention in VDC. For me, groups should help with administrating users, and not add additional administrative overhead.

Hi Alen,
For that, you should leverage the variable license model. It reads the group at each backup to enumerate the latest list of users. As I say, the point of Fixed is to have a static list of users/sites that you are protecting. Variable is designed for dynamically adjusting backup requirements.
