Hello everyone.
My customer has Windows Server with HYPER-V 2025, several virtual machines, and Veeam B&R version 12.3.2.3617.
In Veeam B&R, he has a backup job where I set up in the Storage - Advanced area
to perform an Active Full Backup every day (please don't ask me why, I was just testing something),
and in the Schedule area, to run automatically only on Fridays.
To my surprise, the job ran every day and performed a Full Backup.
As soon as I changed the Storage - Advanced settings so that Active Full Backup would only run on Fridays,
the job only ran on Fridays.
Is this a bug or by design?
If it's by design, I think it's wrong,
because the job should only run on the date defined in the Schedule section,
not according to when Active Full Backup is defined.
Thank you for your response and opinion.
P.S.
Sorry for my bad English.

Re: Bug in scheduled job launch?
Yes, it's by design for about 10 years now. It was not like that initially, resulting in too many users ending up in endless incremental chains because they were not careful with their job scheduling, creating all sorts of "don't ask me why" type of schedules which resulted in active full backup not happening at all. This issue was causing too many support cases, and the ultimate fix was to implement the change making jobs run whenever active full is scheduled regardless of all other job scheduling settings.
