Hi,
Currently there is no provision in Veeam for Azure and AWS whereby a server that is added to a daily scheduled policy, can be added to another policy to take adhoc backups if required.
If we add a server (that is already backing up in a policy) to a new policy, we get a warning that its already processed in a different job, as specified here: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbazu ... 20priority.
To get around this, veeam support suggested to us in Case # 07799094 that we need to create a new policy, with a higher priority than the original policy and aimed at a completely new repository, to be able to take the adhoc backup.
This seems like a very complicated way to accomplish a simple task. We require a similar functionality to what exists on the other VBR offerings for VMware and Nutanix, where an adhoc backup can be taken simply by creating a new backup job, in the same repository. We would appreciate not having to create a new repository just for the sake of taking a few adhoc backups.

Re: Functionality to take adhoc backups of a resource in AWS and Azure while daily backups are configured
Hi,
Your request is clear. Can you clarify if this adhoc backup is a one time thing to phase out instances?

Hi,
Yes. that would be the usecase, also it could be for other times as well when a single backup is required for a machine for a specific retention period, in addition to the daily backup that is already configured.

Understood. We will look into this for a future enhancement to the platform.
