We currently are using these reports for our customers:
Database Log Protection History
Workload Protection History
And the customers reported some uncertainties to us:
1. Is it not visible if certain officially natively supported "Applications" are processed "correctly" with AAIP (Windows Domain Controllers and Exchange for Example). In fact for no VM something like "AAIP" is shown in the Workload Protection History. Also same would be for VM which have pre- and post-freeze script or index/malware activated...
How can this be achieved?
Is there maybe another report which displays such information?
Support has no answer and refers putting this "issue" here on the R&D Forum.

Re: Case #07783888 — AAIP for Exchange/Domaincontroller not show in workload protection history report
Hello Udo,
Veeam ONE reports similar information as Veeam Backup & Replication. How do you see these applications protected in a regular VBR Job, just as VMs/Windows Agents right? Or when you try to restore those from backups, under the repository list should be a VM/Agent, but not an AD, or Exchange per-se.
What would be the best way of showing it? Maybe you can share some screenshot here of an excel with the columns, etc.
Thank you!

Re: Case #07783888 — AAIP for Exchange/Domaincontroller not show in workload protection history report
Hello Jorge,
regarding AAIP and Domain Controllers and Exchange Servers it is a bit "tricky" with VBR.
There is no "Tab" within the Processing Settings for Domain Controllers and Exchange like it is for example for SQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL.
So you just activate "Require successful processing" and "Process transaction logs with this job (recommended)" and hope it works accordingly...
So even for us as backup admins from the normal history/logs we cannot really say if everything works correctly regarding application-aware backup
for these particular officially supported two applications (Domain Controller/Exchange).
And so our customer asked us rightfully how can see it from the reports we hand out because there this information is also not visible there.
So this in my eyes not not 100% VeeamONE "issue" because it cannot present what isn't there as obvious information from VBR...
But then there would also be the question how much can or does VeeamONE interpret the information from VeeamONE.
Application-aware Backup is "checked" so that could be displayed easily within VeeamONE.
Making at least a bit more visible that this is maybe a bit more special server/application in the reports.
I would have some screenshots but it seems not being possible to upload them?
I you want we can have a remote session and I can explain it more in depth.
Best Regards
Udo
