File Level Restore Linux
Hi,
I am using Veeam Backup 3.1 and I can't get any file level restore to work for my Linux VM's.
When I run the wizard, it launched VMWare Player and I get the following on the screen then nothing happens:
inet addr:192.168.246.128 Bcast 192.168.246.255
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
It just sits at this screen endlessly, is there something else I need to do? I am running this on Windows Server 2008 Standard 32bit edition all with latest updates.
VMWare Player is the latest released version from VMWare also.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Terry

Gostev,
I have logged a support incident 2 days ago and have not hear anything back as of yet.
This is beyond your 12 hour response time and am wondering when I am going to have an answer from your support team?
Regards,
Terry

Terry,
I've just checked that you've been replied the same day 06/15 (few hours later). I've also replied you one more time, so could you please confirm that you've received the letter?

Hi,
[Ticket#508710]
I have not received any replies still as of yet, I have checked out mail servers and cannot see the e-mail being blocked or anything either?
Can you message me privately on the forums and confirm what e-mail address you are sending it to?
I received the initial e-mail saying that my ticket was created, but that is all.
Regards,
Terry

Re: File Level Restore Linux
In case anyone has the issue in the future, the problem was with the Firewall being enabled on the Virtual Interfaces VMWare player installs.
To fix this issue, make sure any firewall you are running does not run on the Virtual Interfaces, and TCP PORT 22222 is open on the backup server.

Re: File Level Restore Linux
Crud. Came here with the exact same problem, and was hopeful this was the solution, but it didn't work for me. I even completely disabled the Win2008 firewall, but the vmware player still crashes with the "inet addr:192.168.213.128..." stuff.
Is there some other trick to making this work? Do I have to reboot the server after disabling the firewall or something?
