How to keep the chain (post new Host)

It's becoming increasingly frustrating to run new Full backups whenever a new host gets put in place.

With Clusters it somehow keeps track of the VM, so I feel like there has to be a way to upgrade a host OS or upgrade the hardware without needing a new full, assuming that you're running a full Move-VM in hyper-V.

Has anyone found a way around this?

This isn't a technical issue per se or an error - just an open conversation on wasting tens of terabytes of storage.
