Hello,
I'm deploying the V13 VSA in my Lab environment using the OVA. During initial deployment and initial setup I didn't see any option to select a keyboard layout, and defaults to US. Did I miss something?
Since I have a non-US keyboard (in this case German), it gets a bit awkward when I have to manually type in the initial veeamadmin password. Due to the strict password requirements, most of us will probably use a password manager to generate a secure password. It's complicated to copy/paste a password into the VMware console. And typing it manually is difficult when you don't know where certain special characters are, due to a different keyboard layout. You can use the show password option, but it's a lot of trial and error.
Also, when are the Storage Plugins going to be available, e.g. for PureStorage or Dell Powerstore? Currently I can only see those plugins available for a Windows VBR server, and only IBM FlashSystem has a Linux plugin download.
Just my 2 cents so far.
Stephen

Re: [V13] Keyboard layout and storage plugins
Hello Stephen, I too believe keyboard layout selection is not available yet.
Regarding storage plug-in, you will need to check with your storage vendor to see when do they plan to update their plug-ins to be compatible with Linux-based software appliance. IBM was the first to do it indeed, this is documented in the What's New as well. But one of [many] reasons why we decided to do an early release this time is to give storage vendors the production code and a few months to update their plug-ins for compatibility before the full release.
Thanks

Re: [V13] Keyboard layout and storage plugins
Just blogged about how you can change the keyboard by modifying the kickstart script. I don't have qwertzu by azerty so I feel the pain. I'm using kvm to inject the kickstart script which might be a bit more complicated:

I think the easiest approach for a real system install is to use a tool like rufus to convert the iso to a usb stick. Then update the kickstart (manual or automatic). For hardened repo, the installation script is by default hardened-repo-ks.cfg and I believe it should be in the root of the usb stick. I just experimented with setting static ips and timezone configuration as well (eg in my example i inserted cloudflare cause they include nts). I'm keeping an updated copy here with sample code: https://gist.github.com/tdewin/17503cdc ... -on-kvm-md

Re: [V13] Keyboard layout and storage plugins
Will blog post later with some screenshots. It seems dd the image has the problem that you can not update it. However, you can actually modify the iso first. This has the advantage that you could use the same set of instructions if you want to use a remote console or a usb stick. Just for a usb stick, the option is to copy the iso block per block to the device

I guess in your particular case, you want to add "de" instead of "be" for a german layout (localectl list-keymaps) and "Europe/Berlin" or "Europe/Vienna" (but I might be making assumptions here)
