Upgrade from v9 to v12

Post by kostasus »

Hi,

I would like to ask for help in our planned upgrade.
Actually I found we´ve got a small installation of Veeam B&R on version 9.5 and I would like to make upgrade on v12. community edition I found I should do it over v 10a or 11a and than go on v12.
I think the fastest way is to make a clean installation and import backups in it and configurre the rest. There is my question, is it enaught to delete old version of Veeam B&R on old server and install a new one version on the same server or is better to make it on clean installed server? I´m not sure if there will not remain some rests of old installation or is it OK? Old server has some perpetual license, but we will not need it so thefore community edition.

Thank you
Regads

Correct.

I'd recommend to setup a clean machine to avoid conflicts with possible component leftovers and old file versions.
