AOS 7.3

Post by ronnmartin61 » 2 people like this post

This week Nutanix released AOS 7.3 which affects a number of core API's we leverage as part of our normal backup/restore processing. Fortunately Nutanix advised us well in advance of these changes and we were able to make the appropriate changes in our 7.1 plug-in release which shipped earlier this year. Please note however that AHV plug-in versions prior to 7.1 will NOT work with AOS 7.3

Great. We just upgraded AOS to 7.3. And it works. Thanks Veeam.

Quick update. Our QA team has put AOS 7.3 through its paces with our v7.1 AHV plug-in and everything appears to be working as expected. We will be updating our official helpcenter documentation to reflect this presently.

I'm working on migrating Veeam AHV backups from a legacy Nutanix cluster running AOS 6.3 to a new Nutanix cluster running AOS 7.3. I'm trying to look for an old release notes for AHV plugin 7.0 (12.7.0.172) that states the supported AOS versions so as to justify the need to upgrade the VBR to 12.3.1.1139 with AHV plugin 7.1 (12.7.1.12). I've tried searching Veeam's website but the AHV plugin 7 releases (now considered Archived) only list the latest 7.1 related support info. Is there any other sources that keesp the old release notes for AHV plugin 7.0 (12.7.0.172)?

@romulanvox we don't have a single historical AOS-to-AHV plug-in compatibility resource however as you allude to the archived plug-in helpcenter pages may be referenced for AOS compatibility information. I think referring to the version compatibility section of https://helpcenter.veeam.com/archive/vb ... ments.html should provide the requisite justification for the 12.3.1.1139 VBR upgrade. The 7.1 plugin (or later) is really the only option for AOS 7.3
