Veeam agent backups failing

Post by electsystech »

We have one computer with veeam agent 6.3.2.1205 and the backups keep failing. The laptop is on a wired 1gb ethernet connection and it backs up to a synology nas smb file share. The laptop has ssd drives, I think they might be nvme.
Does the bad blocks detected mean the drive is failing? There are no other issues with the computer that I'm aware of.

One or more bad blocks were detected and skipped in the source disk
Error: Cannot process pending I/O request (offset: 37428264960, size: 65536): async reader terminated Corrupted block processing thread failed unexpectedly Failed to upload disk. Skipped arguments: [EmulatedDiskSpec>]; Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}. Exception from server: Cannot process pending I/O request (offset: 37428264960, size: 65536): async reader terminated Unable to retrieve next block transmission command. Number of already processed blocks: [35674]. Failed to download disk '77bfbbb5-bf77-46cd-a8b7-2d66fb11cd4e'

I created a veeam support Case # 07831890 on Sept 23 and haven't heard back yet, but I understand it's a best effort.

Hi Doug

Yes, looks like your disk is failing (KB 2295).

However, as explained in our forum policies, we can’t provide assistance for technical errors.
Please wait for our support team to respond. In the meantime, check the disk health using tools from your disk vendor.

Best,
Fabian
