Unattended BMR from PXE
Hi all,
Has anyone successfully performed an unattended restore using the Veeam Recovery Media booted via PXE?
I'm using the same BMRAnswerFile.xml that works flawlessly when booting from a recovery USB, but it fails to trigger an unattended restore over PXE. I've tried placing the XML file in the following locations within the PXE environment:
X:\
X:\VeeamRecovery
X:\ProgramData\Veeam
X:\ProgramData\Veeam\Endpoint
X:\Program Files\Veeam
D:\ (USB connected after boot)
Attached VHD
Attached iSCSI disk
No luck so far. Has anyone found a reliable method or workaround for this?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Unattended BMR from PXE
same here!
would be interesting to know how to tell Veeam.EndPoint.Recovery.exe to use BMRAnswerFile.xml
may be there is an undocumented commandline switch?

Hi all,
I'm still working on this request.
It took some time to prepare and optimize my lab for the PXE boot test scenario.
I received some information from our QA team regarding the location of the XML file, which I'm trying out now.
One of my colleagues from the solution architects team is also looking into this topic.
Best,
Fabian

Re: Unattended BMR from PXE
Hi all,
We stopped testing because PXE boot and Unattended BMR using BMRAnswerFile.xml do not work out of the box. Changes in Veeam Agent are required to provide a user-friendly method.
This does not mean the topic or your need for unattended BMR via network boot is forgotten.
However, there is currently no ETA for when a solution might be available.

Fabian
