Hi,
Actually when migrate from VMware to Promox or other Hypervisor, Veeam dont recover the MAC of the VM.
In Linux envirioment retain/recover the MAC "normally" should help to do a smooth recovery without need to login in the VM and apply again a netplan or config the networking.
Please evaluate.
Regards,

Re: Proxmox Restore : MAC Restore
Hello,
whenever you restore to a different location (even on VMware), the VM gets a new MAC address. Only "restore to same locations" preserves the MAC address.
The Linux address assignment can be adjusted to that depending on the distro. There are conversations about this since probably 15 years on the forums when using Veeam Replication
There are currently no plans to potentially create significant network issues by duplicating MAC addresses where customers might not be aware of it.
Best regards
Hannes

Re: Proxmox Restore : MAC Restore
well, I never used GUIs on Linux, but I know there are config files to solve that issue
