Updating agents after updating VBR

Post by maiquelbf » 1 person likes this post

Hello,

After updating the patch on VBR, I performed a rescan on my Veeam Agents, but no updates were detected.

The only way to update remotely was by enabling the "Install backup agent automatically" and "Auto-update backup agent" options in the Protection Group settings. This way, during the agent rescan, the patch was installed.

To have more control over agent updates, I usually keep these options disabled so that VBR doesn't update automatically during the rescan.

Is this expected behavior? Shouldn't VBR detect that the Veeam Agent requires an update and allow me to perform a controlled update?

Have you tried selecting the Update Agent option manually?

Yes, I tried that, but I can only update the agent if VBR detects that it requires an update.

For me, it only worked after I edited the Protection Group settings and enabled the "Install backup agent automatically" and "Auto-update backup agent" options.

It’s going to be a lot of work to do this across all the environments I manage, not to mention the fact that it appears to be “up to date.”
