Backup costs and comparison to Barracuda/Dropsuite

We were thinking about hosting customer's Microsoft 365 backups, but Veeam license is either too expensive, or Barracuda/Dropsuite are too cheap. I cannot host all infra-structure, plus all licensing and provide an alternative to Barracuda and Dropsuite. I'm just trying to understand if we should indeed rule out Veeam completely for such workloads or if there is a different licensing term, because so far I cannot see a way of operating even at break even point, it would be a loss-making service to me.
