Deactivation of "Low on Free Space" Warning Messages

Post by Max93 »

Hello everyone,

We keep receiving the message “Disk Recovery Image (D:) is running low on free space” on about 20 out of 33 production machines after each backup.
This will never change, as the drive is statically defined.

Is there a way to completely disable these notifications for our Protection Group?
It’s annoying because the backups are always marked as “Successful with warnings.”

Hopefully, there’s a solution for this.

Thanks in advance,
Max

Hi Max,

There is a registry key you can try on the agent:

Location: HKLM\Software\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup\
DWORD: DisableVolumeFreeSpaceCheckWarning (1 = Disabled, 0 = Enabled)

Please configure it on the agent machine and let me know if this disables the warning.

Hi @Mildur

Unfortunately, that didn’t help. I created the DWORD entry on 24.10 as suggested and restarted the backup server, but I’m still getting the “low on free space” warnings.
Maybe it’s worth mentioning that the issue isn’t with the C:/ drive, but often with a partition of it — usually D:/

See attached screenshots.

Did you create it on the agent machine? Or on the backup server.
It looks to me as it was configured on your backup server.

Oh, yes, that's configured on the backup server. Do I need to configure it on the agent server? I'll try it. Thanks for the tip!
