Moving SOBR performance tier from NAS to local S3

Post by SirVsALot »

Hi,

I currently have a SOBR setup where the performance tier is a local NAS, and the capacity tier is Wasabi.

I now have a local S3 object storage unit (Ootbi) that I want to move the performance tier backups to.

Is there a way to update the SOBR config to use the local S3 object storage for the performance tier, while maintaining the existing backup chain and backups on the Wasabi capacity tier? If I try to add the local S3 storage to the SOBR, I (predictably) get an error about mixing block and file storage, so I can't just add the new storage and evactuate from the old extent.

Is it possible to add the new S3 storage to the existing SOBR config, or do I need to build a new SOBR and startover from scratch? Any thoughts on the best route to take?
