Re: HPE VM Essentials
Veeam and HPE worked jointly to deliver the best host-based backup integration. HPE's backup API enhancements for VME will be available with their upcoming version 8.0.11, which is planned to be released in the next days. Our beta will depend on this version and we will need to do some testing with this release first. So Anton's statement about the beta timing is spot on.

Re: HPE VM Essentials
@EdFromOhio - I think HPE has been open from the beginning about the integration with Veeam for image based backup. HPE and Veeam had a recent webcast talking about the integration that you can find here: https://paths.ext.hpe.com/r/v100008477? ... de=overlay

Re: HPE VM Essentials
Yes, Beta will have CBT support. Beta of the VM Essentials plug-in will be available as separate download and is based on Veeam Backup & Replication V13.0.1

Re: HPE VM Essentials
If you decide to give beta a try and face any technical issues, please create a separate topic for each individual issue. Ideally please start the topic name from [BETA] [HPE] tags.

Re: HPE VM Essentials
I'm really glad to see this thread. We're recently started planning to move from VMware to HPE VME over the next 3 years, and we were hoping by then it would have complete Veeam support.

Re: HPE VM Essentials
Is back-up from Storage Snapshots with VME a short or long-term roadmap item?

Re: HPE VM Essentials
It's not on a short term roadmap and it's a bit too early to talk about a long-term roadmap for the hypervisor with close to no market share. A lot will depend on its adoption comparing to other hypervisors we support as we will prioritize advanced integration features primarily based on that. We would not invest heavily in hypervisors that get no significant traction, for obvious reasons.

Re: HPE VM Essentials
First customers deployed with VME and actively migrating VM's now... So Veeam I hope you get the beta version out soon in production state...
Backups from my side seems to be working with the beta running on my own environment...

Re: HPE VM Essentials
As much as I like to hear it, please don't overemphasize our role
for example, Proxmox already had significant market share before we delivered its native support.

Re: HPE VM Essentials
A lot of customers are looking at HPE VME (as we also do) and the major concern is backup. There's no migration if there's no solid backup solution like Veeam (and if one's already on Veeam, like us, migration to HPE VME is possible when the production plugin is available).

Re: HPE VM Essentials
Does anyone know if Instant VM Recovery is currently supported in the beta or is it on the roadmap for future support? Sorry, I would have tried this myself but currently don't have access to an environment to test this.
