Hello,
We have a Tape server for transferring backups from the linux server repository to the tape library with LTO8 drives.
We want to upgrade the repository server with interfaces up to 100 Gbps.
We need the option to use tape server caching, that stores data on a fast disk before writing the backups to the tapes.
This will help us to improve transferring the backups to tapes.
Thank you!

Re: [Feature Request] Tape Server Caching
Hi inecula15,
Keep in mind that the theoretical maximum speed of LTO‑10 is far below 100 Gbps, so adding a 100 Gbps interface may not improve performance.
Regarding your request, you can already configure a similar setup using backup copy jobs.
Add local disks to your Tape Server, set it up as a backup repository, and use a backup copy job to send backups there. Keep these copies for only a few days. Configure your tape jobs to write those copies to tape.
This addresses your request "stores data on a fast disk before writing the backups to the tapes".
Best,
Fabian
